Places built for the long term
Swire Properties was established in Hong Kong in 1972. It develops and manages commercial, retail, hotel and residential property, typically large mixed-use developments in prime areas, with investments across Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Singapore and the US. Its best-known places include Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay, Pacific Place in Admiralty, Taikoo Li Sanlitun in Beijing and Taikoo Hui in Guangzhou. The company has been listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong since 2012, under stock code 1972.
Homes have been part of the business from the start. Taikoo Shing, its first major development on the former Taikoo Dockyard site, grew into 12,698 homes in 61 towers. Swire Properties has built 32,218 homes across 30 residential projects in Hong Kong and 2,464 homes overseas, working with architects such as Frank Gehry on OPUS HONG KONG and Thomas Heatherwick on EDEN in Singapore.
In 2019 the company formed a joint venture with Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional (JSI Group), a developer with more than 40 years in Indonesia, to build Savyavasa in Dharmawangsa, South Jakarta. The project broke ground in March 2022, topped out in 2024 and welcomed its first residents in May 2026. Foreign passport holders can buy at Savyavasa on strata title, and the marketing gallery on Jl. Dharmawangsa Raya is open for private viewings.

Our story
From Taikoo Shing to South Jakarta
- 1972Incorporated in Hong KongSwire Properties was incorporated in Hong Kong, with interests held by B & S Industries and the Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Company.
- 1975Taikoo Shing beginsWork started on Taikoo Shing on the former Taikoo Dockyard site. By 1987 it comprised 12,698 homes in 61 towers.
- 1988Pacific Place opensThe first phase of Pacific Place in Admiralty was handed over to tenants, and the company moved its headquarters to One Pacific Place.
- 2012Main Board listingSwire Properties listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong under stock code 1972, and completed OPUS HONG KONG by Frank Gehry.
- 2019Into JakartaSwire Properties formed a joint venture with Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional Group to develop a luxury residential project in Jakarta.
- 2022GroundbreakingSavyavasa broke ground in Dharmawangsa in March 2022, with the main contractor appointed at the same ceremony.
